Limited Government Agriculture Scorecard Launched by American Family Farmers
Today, Competitive Markets Action, the Institute for Legislative Analysis, and the Organization for Competitive Markets, proudly announced the launch of the first Limited Government Agriculture Scorecard. This initiative is designed to combat cronyism in agriculture and hold lawmakers accountable to the needs of small and independent family farmers who have long-been working to fight foreign multinational conglomerates and the Global Meat Cartel’s corporate capture of the U.S. agriculture.
Alabama Farmers Gather to Demand Change in the Farm Bill During Event Held in Guntersville
Friday, farmers from across North Alabama gathered at Top O’ the River, for the national Enough Is Enough Tour to call on Congress to deliver a farm bill that shifts power back to America’s producers. The event was sponsored by the Alabama Contract Poultry Growers Association (ALCPGA), Organization for Competitive Markets (OCM), and Competitive Markets Action (CMA) in collaboration with Farm Action, the American Grassfed Association, and other farm groups across America. Representatives from the offices of U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, and U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt, R-AL-04, joined as well.
Statement on Chairman Glenn Thompson's House Farm Bill Released Today
"Chairman's Thompson's Farm Bill is exactly what we expected and is a direct reflection of the continued corruption in the swamp that has put countless American family farmers out of business decade after decade. The measure panders to industrial agriculture monopolies like the Chinese-owned Smithfield, the National Pork Producers Council, and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, and would nullify countless state laws across the country that protect the last few remaining independent pork producers in our nation with its slimmed down version of the EATS Act.”

Members of the Organization for Competitive Markets (OCM), met in the Southeastern U.S., for the group’s annual conference, general membership meeting, and election of officers. The group was blessed with a raft of speakers that included Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson, Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Michael Kades, and Andy Green, Senior Advisor to the Secretary at the U.S. Dept of Agriculture.
Rep. Nancy Mace Wins Farm Group Endorsement in Republican Primary
Today, Competitive Markets Action, Inc. (CMA), a 501(c)(4) non-profit based in Washington, D.C., with the mission of promoting more regenerative and sustainable agriculture, and competitive markets in the U.S., and defending against attacks on states’ rights by the federal government, endorsed U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., for re-election in the First Congressional District Republican primary against Catherine Templeton. Earlier this year Mace was also endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump who deemed Mace a “strong conservative voice.”
Farm Groups Announce "Enough is Enough" Tour with Event in Guntersville
Today, 16 farm organizations announced the launch of the national Enough Is Enough Tour in protest of government policies that drive consolidation of the food system into the hands of the largest multinational corporations to the detriment of farmers and ranchers. A major focus of the tour is to highlight corruption in government checkoff programs, which compel farmers and ranchers to contribute a staggering one billion dollars annually and which have been co-opted by corporate interests.
